  • Can someone explain Domenech's continued lack of interest in Philippe Mexes?

Any truth to the rumor that Mexes was one of the young French players whom Domenech's wife may have had "relations" with?

I read this rumor in an Italian forum.

But Ludovic Giuly's forthcoming autobiography does contend that Domenech never called Giuly up because Domenech suspected Giuly of having an affair with Domenech's wife. There were supposedly some text messages or phone calls between the two, but Giuly claims that no sex ever happened.

I think there may be rumors involving Domenech's wife and other players, too.

  • Sagna was not a real surprise he's a strong U21 player, followed by many great teams and named best left defender of Ligue 1 by his pairs.

As a Spurs fan, I'm a bit dissapointed that Chimbonda didn't get into the squad now that Sagnol is out. Then again, the french national team managers have never put much faith in our players - Ginola, Kanoute, and now Chimbonda.

Here is an interview (http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=468583&CPID=219&clid=368&lid=11&title=Domenech+explains+Trez+snub&channel=&) of Domenech regarding Trezeguet, Briand, and Wiltord.

Raymond Domenech has resisted the temptation to recall David Trezeguet into the France squad for next month's Euro 2008 qualifiers.

With Thierry Henry and Louis Saha both ruled out through injury, the Juventus striker had been tipped to return to the international scene.

However, Domenech refuses to call on Trezeguet while the experienced front man is still plying his trade in Serie B.

"Just like Jean-Alain Boumsong, David is not here for the same reasons again, that for one year he has played in Serie B," Domenech told French media.

"There is a pace difference between international competition and Serie B. But the moment for his comeback will arrive soon."

Trezeguet and Juventus will return to Italy's top flight next season with the Old Lady winning promotion straight back to Serie A.

Instead of Trezeguet, Domenech opted to call up Rennes' talented striker Jimmy Briand, saying: "I know what he is capable of."

Meanwhile, the French team coach has stated his hope that Sylvain Wiltord continues playing for another couple of years.

Wiltord was recently suspended by Lyon, but Domenech is praying it does not signal the end of the former Arsenal man's career.

"I hope that it isn't going to be the end of his career, but just a time-out," Domenech was quoted on the French Football Federation's website.

"He has what is required to play two more good seasons. I hope that he will be available for September's (qualifiers)."

faynord fan racist shit. go sing halocoust songs. thats what you love to do no?

  • Vieira and Henry are injured. Is Wiltord injured?

Any truth to the rumor that Mexes was one of the young French players whom Domenech's wife may have had "relations" with?

    what's this all about?

  • Sagna was not a real surprise he's a strong U21 player, followed by many great teams and named best left defender of Ligue 1 by his pairs.

Sagna is a right back by trade and is replacing Sagnol who is out injured.

  • About the Mexes thing, he was called up last few qualifiers, and I highly doubt Estelle found time to have an affair as she's pregnant with Ray's second kid during France-Lithuania.

You are probably correct, but I just want to clarify that I am not making up the rumors about Estelle Denis's "relations" with footballers! (French Wikipedia (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estelle_Denis#Biographie).)

  • I loved Domenech's comment regarding Sagna, where he admitted that he was limited in his choices in RB. But not bad for Sagna. He's behind Sagnol and Clerc in the pecking order at the moment, but is close enough in age to Clerc where he could potentially take over his spot.

About the Mexes thing, he was called up last few qualifiers, and I highly doubt Estelle found time to have an affair as she's pregnant with Ray's second kid during France-Lithuania (Yes, Ray does reproduce...scary:eek: ).

The competition is tight for that position, and with Thuram and Gallas healthy, perhaps Domenech wanted to test out Squillaci or Escude.

  • Sagna is a right back by trade and is replacing Sagnol who is out injured.correction: he's backing up clerc, who is replacing der verletzte willi.

About the Mexes thing ... the competition is tight for that position, and with Thuram and Gallas healthy, perhaps Domenech wanted to test out Squillaci or Escude.i'm with you, but i would have loved to see squillaci and mexès paired up... if that's not our future at the back i'm much mistaken.

as for "big surprises" i would consider alou diarra as a good one.

  • Happy that Briand got called while he's still at Rennes...Anyway, given the stake in both those games, that's a huge recognition to be included in the group.

  • faynord fan racist shit. go sing halocoust songs. thats what you love to do no?

tell off a mod. yeah, thats smart.

  • My job is done here, carry on with your very excellent thread.

  • [quote=Rima067;11641662]Is Wiltord injured?quote]

No but is in trouble with his club so he doesn't play.
